BAE Systems

BAE Systems is a global defence, security and aerospace company.  We have been working with BAE Systems on a 30 month joint research and development project since July 2010.

BAE Systems Surface Ships is the UK's premier designer, manufacturer, integrator and services provider delivering highly capable naval ships and supporting infrastructure to the UK Royal Navy and customers around the world.

Under our partnership, engineers at BAE Systems Surface Ships are taking their extensive knowledge of the design, repair and maintenance of complex naval systems, and working with us to develop an intelligent diagnostic system and remote ballasting mechanism for our Oyster wave energy converter.

BAE Systems operates across five continents, employing around 107,000 people worldwide with customers and partners in over 100 countries.  BAE Systems delivers a full range of products and services for air, land and naval forces, as well as advanced electronics, security, information technology solutions and customer support services.

In addition to its partnership with Aquamarine Power, BAE Systems is involved in a number of further renewable energy projects, including working with the wind industry to resolve radar disruption issues and designing the electrical distribution system for the largest land based wind farm in Europe at Whitelee

Aquamarine Power is a truly pioneering company. We are delighted to be able to apply BAE Systems’ skills developed in naval design and maritime engineering to support the development of Aquamarine Power’s innovative Oyster wave power technology.
