Burntisland Fabrications
Leading fabrication contractor Burntisland Fabrications (BiFab)
has over 20 years experience in manufacturing for the offshore oil
and gas industry. In recent years BiFab has applied this
extensive offshore experience to the emerging offshore renewable
energy sector.
BiFab fabricated our next-generation Oyster 800 wave energy
device at their manufacturing plant at Methil on the Firth of
Forth in Scotland.
BiFab's diversification into offshore renewables, along with its
reputation for innovation in its field, has allowed the company to
emerge as one of Scotland's leading fabricators. The vision
of the company's management has sustained BiFab through a period of
significant change in the North Sea energy industry allowing it to
emerge as the one of the few major fabricators currently operating
in Scotland.
BiFab operates fabrication facilities at Methil, Arnish and at
Burntisland. The company has recently been operating with a
workforce of over 1000 people.
Oyster is a very exciting product with great potential and we are pleased that the second-generation Oyster 800 was manufactured by BiFab here in Scotland The marine energy industry presents an unmissable opportunity for UK manufacturing and supply industries.
