Fugro Seacore
Leading marine drilling specialist Fugro Seacore has over 30
years experience in providing geotechnical services and specialist
foundation solutions for the marine construction, renewables, oil,
gas and mining industries worldwide.
We worked with Fugro Seacore on the drilling and
installation of the foundation system for our second-generation
Oyster 800 wave energy device. Fugro Seacore previously
installed the piles for our first full-scale Oyster wave power
device at Billlia Croo near Stromness in Orkney in 2009.
Fugro Seacore specialise in marine rock drilling, large diameter
piling, pile top drilling, foundation installation and jack up
platform operation. They also design, fabricate and operate
all their own equipment and manage projects worldwide. Fugro
Seacore's sound safety record, comprehensive quality assurance and
environmental sensitivity has led to successful contracts with a
wide variety of clients, including BP and Shell.
Fugro Seacore's main office is based at Falmouth, Cornwall, in a
new purpose-built facility. Fugro Seacore currently employs around
500 people.
Having worked with Aquamarine Power on the installation of their first Oyster device, we were delighted to continue our relationship and be involved in the second-generation Oyster 800 project. Oyster is a very exciting new technology and we are very proud to be involved in the early stages of its development.
