ICE accredits professional development scheme
17 Feb 12 - David Kaye, Engineer Manager
We were delighted to receive confirmation last month that the
Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) had formally accredited
Aquamarine Power's scheme for the professional development of our
engineers.
The ICE is licensed by the Engineering Council to accredit
professional development schemes leading towards Chartered Engineer
registration.
Our Structural Engineer Jon Hancock will lead the training of
our civil engineers under the scheme following his approval by the
ICE as a supervising civil engineer.
This accreditation shows that Aquamarine Power's training scheme
is now recognised by two world class engineering Institutions. In
2010, our training scheme received accreditation by the Institution
of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), where it was noted the scheme was
"well documented, supported at senior level and highly structured,"
and that developing engineers were of a "high calibre".
Aquamarine Power recognises the importance of training young
engineers for the future of our company and to provide the next
generation of leaders in the industry.
