IMechE accredits professional development scheme
1 Oct 10
The Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) has accredited
our scheme for the professional development of our engineers.
The IMechE is licensed by the Engineering Council to accredit
professional development schemes as a monitored way of recording
initial professional development, leading towards Chartered
Engineers (CEng) or Incorporated Engineers (IEng) registration.
Maximum period of accreditation
We received accreditation for our scheme for the maximum three
year period, demonstrating the IMechE's confidence in our
professional development scheme.
The IMechE's Professional Development Standards Committee noted
that our scheme was "well documented, supported at senior level and
highly structured."
Enthusiastic and committed
The IMechE panel also noted that the mentors they interviewed
from Aquamarine Power were "enthusiastic and committed to
delivering on the objectives of the Scheme", and that developing
engineers were of a "high calibre".
David Kaye, our Engineering Manager who leads our professional
development scheme said:
"At Aquamarine Power we are committed to the continual
professional development of our team, to encouraging high career
aspirations and to inspiring individuals to achieve their
goals.
"This accreditation by the IMechE is testament to our long-term
commitment to attract, develop and maintain our engineering
capability. The observations from the IMechE panel reflect
the high level of competence and enthusiasm within the team."
