Project Engineer, Edinburgh
We are currently seeking a Project Engineer to provide technical
and project management expertise to enable the execution of our
project in a safe, timely and cost effective way. The successful
candidate will ideally have experience in all project stages from
pre-conceptual design through to handover to operations. The
successful candidate will be required to work with specialist
consultants and build good relationships with key stakeholders in
the marine sector.

Reporting to our Project Manager, the key responsibilities for
this role are:
• In conjunction with the Engineering, Installation and
Project Team identify and implement engineering solutions
throughout the scope of the project to deliver cost efficiencies to
achieve a cost of power that is commercially competitive.
• Assist the Project Manager in all aspects of day-today
management of the project, from planning, facilitation of
procurement of bespoke and stock products through to installation
of both on and off-shore plant.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of budgets and
schedules
• Responsible for running sub-projects from start through to
handover
• Develop and lead relationships with contractors, suppliers,
and Aquamarine employees to ensure efficient and timely execution
of the project, delivering against quality and HSE milestones and
targets.
• Review of technical documentation and installation
methodologies to deliver and maximise availability, minimise
maintenance and installation and operational costs.
• Responsible for the creation of project documentation
including, Scope's of Work, Risk Management Plans and Project
Plans.
• Proactively ensure and develop quality and HSE standards are
met by all staff and contractors.
• Act as site representative in design/fabrication sites or
offshore if and when required
• Ensure interfaces between contracts and hardware are
managed

The successful candidate will have a considerable experience in
project engineering and should have site representative and
contract management experience. You'll also be able to
demonstrate the following competencies:
• A degree in Engineering and ideally experience in a
project team in engineering and / or construction
• Experience in contract and project management
beneficial
• Establishes good working relationships with third
parties
• Good influencing skills to get best out of all
contributors
• Team worker
• Task / Achievement orientated
• Cost/Value aware
• Experience in creating and maintaining Project Plans with
Microsoft Project
• Experience in risk management
• Strong HSE awareness
• Offshore experience very beneficial
• Power industry experience would be a clear plus but is not
essential

Other stuff you need to know
As Project Engineer you will be based at our head office in
Edinburgh but the role will involve significant travel to our
offices in Belfast, Orkney and possibly other locations. Your
salary will be competitive and will reflect your expertise.
