I've spent the last three steelhead seasons chasing chrome on Great Lakes tributaries, and I've burned through more centerpin rods than I care to admit. When I started looking for the best float rods for centerpin fishing, I quickly realized the category is full of specialty gear that doesn't always translate well to a beginner's […]

I have spent the last three summers testing telescoping tenkara rods on trout streams from the Smokies to the Rockies, and I can tell you this category has changed dramatically. The best tenkara rods of are lighter, more responsive, and more affordable than anything I tested five years ago. After casting 10 different models across […]

I've spent the last three seasons running tight line through technical trout water, and the search for the best euro nymphing rods has consumed more tackle-shop conversations than I'd like to admit. After our team cast 10 specialty rods across Montana spring creeks, big-river riffles, and small meadow streams, the winner was clear. This guide […]

When we set out to find the best spey rods, our team spent four months casting two-handed fly rods across steelhead rivers in the Pacific Northwest, trout streams in the Rockies, and Atlantic salmon waters in the Maritimes. We logged over 200 hours on the water, throwing Skagit heads, Scandi lines, and traditional long-belly Spey […]

Green underwater fishing lights are submersible LED lights that emit a 520-530nm green wavelength to trigger a natural food chain — plankton first, then baitfish, then gamefish like crappie, snook, and bass — right at your dock, pier, or boat. Our team has spent the last three months running 10 of the most popular models […]

I've been on the wrong end of a blue catfish's pectoral spine, and let me tell you — it ends the day fast. After that trip, I started taking noodling gloves seriously. Our team has spent the past few seasons testing puncture-resistant fishing gloves in rivers, lakes, and farm ponds across the South and Midwest, […]

I've spent the last 15 summers chasing walleye and musky across the Great Lakes, and I can tell you this much: the best trolling rod holders separate a productive day on the water from a frustrating one. After running six rods at a time on my Tracker Deep-V for the past three seasons, I've personally […]
